The two constant constraint papers explained.

 J. Rogers, SE Ohio

Physics as Geometry, Not Rules

Physics isn’t a list of laws the universe must obey. Instead, it’s the geometry of reality itself. Constants like the speed of light c, Planck’s constant h, and gravity G are not mystical; they’re artifacts of our measurement, the adjustments we make because we’re using arbitrary human rulers.

1. The Coherence Constraint: The Universe’s Master Ruler

The fundamental constants are not random; they form a coherent system that proves the universe has a unique, natural coordinate system—a “master ruler and clock.”

Analogy: Imagine a perfect shape. Measure it in inches, centimeters, or handspans—the numbers change, but the shape stays the same. Constants are just the exchange rates between these measurement systems.

2. Real Physics Lives in Ratios

The real laws of physics exist in the simple, unit-free ratios of the universe. Constants are conversion factors translating these natural ratios into human units.

Analogy: Reality is a 3D sculpture; our equations are 2D photos of it. E=mc² is a photo taken from a specific angle—the constant is a feature of the projection, not the sculpture.

3. Generating All Laws from Geometry

All physical laws—gravity, electricity, quantum mechanics—are just different projections of the same underlying structure. With a computational engine like LawForge, you can map the universal ratios into any measurement system and reproduce every known law, and even predict new ones.

Analogy: The universe is a master blueprint. Any ruler or pen (meters, Joules) will trace the same underlying shape. Constants just describe the tools you used.

The Takeaway

  • Physics is the geometry of reality, not a set of arbitrary rules.

  • Constants like c, h, and G are human measurement artifacts, not fundamental mysteries.

  • Famous laws (E=mc²) are shadows cast by reality onto our measurement system.

For over a century, we’ve been studying the shadows. The real task is to see the shape casting them.
